MRSS Trust

History

The Motueka Rudolf Steiner School Trust (MRSST) was created by a Trust Deed on 10 April 1984. 

Purpose

The purpose of the Trust as stated in the Trust deed is:

The parties are desirous of encouraging the establishment and conduct of schools in New Zealand and in particular in the Motueka region for the general education of persons of all ages in accordance with the educational philosophy of Dr Rudolf Steiner (1868-1925).

Functions

MRSST's core functions are:

  • Vision holder for Steiner education in the Motueka area.
  • Property owner, developer, and landlord.
  • Proprietor of the Motueka Steiner Kindergarten.

In practical terms, this means a group of volunteer parents and grandparents meets monthly to discuss how to advance the vision for the kindergarten, the school, and the broader Steiner community in Motueka, working alongside the other two trusts: the Motueka Steiner School Proprietors Trust and the School Board of Trustees.
